- Performs analysis and research of systems and networks.
- Reviews detailed business and technical requirements in order to recommend technical solutions.
- Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Provides first level engineering design functions.
- Develops complex solutions from business requirements and architectural specifications.
- Designs, leads or plans complex implementations for systems and networks; develops testing plans to ensure quality of implementation.
- Assists in the definition of architecture standards and anticipate areas where architecture standards may need to be developed that are in-line with customer, IT and industry standards.
- Validates the detailed architecture requirements for an application/technology to conform to the current and target architecture and standards.
- Oversees enterprise mix of vendor services; recommends changes and updates to strategy; may act a key contact for setting vendor strategy.

Responsibilities:
This position would be, for the state of MD, dedicated to MD, and responsible for the following:
1. performing assigned tasks to complete customer requests for delivery of desktop software applications and standardized operating systems components and patches to production desktops.
2. Provides support to IT users of desktop management tools to resolve simple technical issues.
3. Provides level III service desk support for resolution of application issues, based on SME status.
4. Interface with Carelon internal support teams to resolve desktop issues of simple to moderate complexity.
5. Test functionality of new desktop management software tools under evaluation as direction.
6. Support audit requirements as requested by other team members.
7. Assists in performing level I systems administration of selected desktop management applications.

Required Skills:
- Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study with a minimum of 5 years experience in a support and operations or design and engineering role in any of the following areas: servers, networks, telecommunication, operating systems, middleware, disaster recovery, collaboration technologies, hardware/software support; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Desired Skills:
- Experience working on software products and troubleshooting software/hardware problems strongly preferred.
- Experience with best practices for software, software configuration and operating systems preferred.
YOE Requirement:
- Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 3 years experience with PC, computer networking or telecommunications experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
